Cindy Turner (they/them/she/her), MPP, is the research assistant for the Merck Foundation initiative called Bridging the Gap: Reducing Disparities in Diabetes Care. They work in the National Program Office at the University of Chicago. They are currently a first-year Master of Public Policy student at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy. Prior to their attending Harris, Cindy served a year through AmeriCorps VISTA with the nonprofit legal clinic, American Gateways, in Austin, TX. Cindy earned their BA majoring in Economics, Philosophy, and Plan II Honors. They have worked in various nonprofit and government internships with a focus on issues ranging from reproductive care to maternal outcomes to Medicaid coverage. They are excited to bring their passion for health policy and equity to the team.
