Project Manager
Rich Gauthier (goh-tyey), MBA, MA, is a program manager at the National Program Office for the Merck Foundation-funded initiative, Bridging the Gap: Reducing Disparities in Diabetes Care. After building a career in management consulting focusing on consumer insights and analytics, Rich transitioned to social work with an emphasis on behavioral health support for people living with chronic health conditions. He completed graduate studies in social service administration and health administration and policy (MA—University of Chicago) and business administration (MBA—Northwestern University). He also holds a graduate degree in international political economics (MA—Catholic University of America) and an undergraduate degree in economics and finance (BA—Catholic University of America). Rich has provided research and clinical support to Chicago-based agencies focused on serving the needs of people from marginalized communities living with HIV. He has also conducted research and developed an unmet social needs intervention for UChicago Medicine’s Comprehensive Care Program, a multidisciplinary team-based approach to addressing social determinants and improving health outcomes among individuals living with complex medical conditions.
